I started Planet Plumbing in December of 1997 after the large plumbing service company I had worked for over the previous 12 years was sold to a private equity company. My plumbing career actually began much earlier, in the oil fields in 1979, and I've been dedicated to the trade ever since.
In the beginning, Planet Plumbing was a one-man, one-truck operation. I was fortunate to build the business in Boulder and Weld Counties—communities where I lived, worked, and raised my family. Our reputation was built through hard work, quality service, and word-of-mouth referrals. In fact, we haven't relied on advertising in more than 25 years.
One of the most rewarding parts of what I do is hearing from customers who tell me they grew up with a Planet Plumbing magnet on their refrigerator. Now, they have homes and families of their own and are calling us for service. I also love hearing from longtime customers who remember when it was just me answering the phones, scheduling appointments, handling the billing, and completing the work myself. Those moments are incredibly meaningful and remind me how far we've come.
Another source of pride is watching our team grow. Several of our plumbers started in our apprentice program and have gone on to earn their Journeyman and Master Plumber licenses. We've always believed in growing organically through hands-on training, mentorship, and a commitment to continuous learning.
Over the past 29 years, Planet Plumbing has been fortunate to attract an incredible team of caring, skilled, and dedicated professionals. Today, we have the strongest team we've ever had—from our office staff and customer service representatives to our technicians in the field. Together, we're committed to providing the high-quality workmanship and exceptional customer care our customers deserve.
As we look ahead, we're excited for the next 30 years and grateful for the trust our customers have placed in us throughout this journey.
